The Sheriff has entered into a joint venture
with the Department of Culture, Recreation,
and Tourism. The Sheriff has leased an island
from the State of Louisiana, Lake Fausse Point
Park System. This Law Enforcement and Louisiana
Adventure will help children to build character
while experiencing Louisiana's great outdoors.
The Sheriff wants to provide the opportunity
for all children's organizations, between the
ages of 9 to 17 (or still in school) the opportunity
to enjoy this outdoor adventure, at no cost
to them.
The island offers:
Conference/Learning Center
Cabins (sleep 24 males or females)
Rustic Camping Area
Full Kitchen/Eating Area
Restroom/Shower Area
Nature Trails
Designated Canoe Areas
Crawfish Coulee
Fishing
Wildlife
Transportation is provided
