PAY TAXES ONLINE

Iberia Parish online tax payments are processed by Official Payments Corp. (www.officialpayments.com). To make an online tax payment:

First, Have the amount of your tax bill on hand. If you do not know the amount of taxes owed, click on TAX BILL below to locate that amount.

The tax search option will open in a separate window or tab. Once you have retrieved the information needed, close the window and return to this page.

Make a Tax Payment Online

The Sheriff, in his capacity as Ex-Officio Tax Collector for the Parish of Iberia, is charged with the responsibility of collecting and overseeing of ad valorem and movable property taxes to ensure that the collected funds are properly disbursed to various government agencies.

Tax notices are mailed out to property owners, generally, during the fourth week of November. If you believe that you should have received a tax notice and did not, please call the Iberia parish Sheriff's Tax Department at (337) 369-3714 Ext. 144 or 123.

Taxes are due by December 31st of said year.

Payments can also be made in person at the Iberia Parish Courthouse at the above address.

It is important to indicate the Parcel Number or Tax Notice Number on your payment so that the proper account can be credited. A receipt will be mailed, if requested by property owner.

Payments may be paid by cash, check, or money order.

Penalty and interest on unpaid taxes are collected beginning in the month of January. Certified letters are mailed to inform property owners of non-payment of taxes. In the event the taxes are not paid by June of the following year, taxes due are sold at a tax sale. All property with delinquent taxes is published twice in the local newspaper prior to the tax sale.

FINES

The Traffic Department is responsible for data entry and retrieval of information on all tickets sent from the District Attorney's Office, collecting of traffic and court fines, and disbursing money to the proper agencies. This department is also responsible for assisting individuals with community service placement as mandated by the court system.

Fines for traffic tickets can be paid by mail or in person at the courthouse at:

Payments will be accepted in the form of money orders, certified checks, or cash. When paying traffic tickets, please submit the ticket with your payment. When paying tickets by mail, a receipt will be returned by mail.

Payments must be made prior to the court date or additional fines and/or warrant may be issued. Note: The court date can be found on the bottom of the ticket.

Only certain misdemeanor violations may be paid prior to the assigned court date.
